Function of Turbocharger Actuator
- 1. Control turbine speed: By adjusting the output pressure and flow rate of the turbocharger, the turbo actuator is able to adjust the speed of the turbine impeller according to the change of engine load in order to achieve the best boosting effect. When the engine load increases, the turbo actuator increases the flow of compressed air to boost the engine output; conversely, when the load decreases, the turbo actuator adjusts accordingly to keep the output of the turbocharger stable.
- 2. Protecting the turbocharger: The turbo actuator acts as a pressure relief valve, controlling the turbocharging output and diverting excess exhaust gases away from the turbine impeller. This helps to control the speed of the turbine, preventing overspeeding, and regulates the speed of the compressor, protecting the turbocharger from unnecessary wear and tear by limiting the maximum boost pressure to a safe level.
